ABOUT THE PAGE

Two extremes. One missing middle.

Many Muslims are never taught to see health as part of their deen. So the body gets neglected — until low energy, illness, old age, Ramadan, or Hajj exposes what was ignored for years.

Others enter modern fitness culture and find something else entirely: ego, vanity, immodesty, comparison, music, mirrors, and a body-first identity that quietly pulls the heart away from Allah.

The Strong Believer was written for the Muslim who wants the middle path.

A body that is cared for — but not worshipped.

Strength that serves salah, fasting, family, work, Hajj, and responsibility.

Fitness without ego. Strength with purpose.

This is a complete Islamic and science-backed fitness guide published by The Haya Project, built for Muslims who want to become healthier, stronger, and more capable without compromising their deen.

You get the full book, a 4-week beginner training plan, a dedicated sisters’ section, FAQ, and 8 printable tools to help you stay consistent after you finish reading.

• You are a complete beginner and do not know where to start.

• You feel guilty for neglecting your health but want to fix it sincerely.

• You want to become stronger for worship, family, work, and responsibility.

• You are a student, busy father, or working Muslim with limited time.

• You are preparing for Ramadan, Hajj, or ʿUmrah and want better energy and stamina.

• You are a sister looking for a modest, privacy-first approach to training.

• You are tired of fitness content that is either spiritually empty or dressed up with weak/fabricated hadith.

WHAT THIS BOOK IS NOT:

This is not a bodybuilding program.

Not a supplement catalogue.

Not a gym-bro manual.

Not an invitation into mirrors, ego, immodesty, and comparison.

It is a practical guide to becoming capable — for the sake of Allah — using authentic Islamic sources and mainstream health science, with references included so you can verify the claims yourself.

WHAT’S INSIDE?

PART ONE — THE WHY

Before the workouts and meal plans, this section builds the Islamic foundation.

You’ll learn why fitness matters for a Muslim — not as vanity, not as gym culture, but as a way to become more capable for worship, responsibility, family, and service.

Inside:

• Why Fitness Matters for a Muslim

What the hadith of “the strong believer” actually means through the explanations of scholars such as al-Nawawi and Ibn ʿUthaymeen — and why physical strength only becomes praiseworthy when it serves iman, obedience, and beneficial action.

• The Body Is an Amanah

Why your health is not just a lifestyle preference. It is a trust from Allah, and neglecting it can affect your worship, family, and responsibilities.

• The Sunnah of Strength and Movement

A careful look at what is authentically established about archery, racing, purposeful movement, and physical training — including a plain explanation of the popular “swimming, archery, and horse riding” quote and why it should not be repeated uncritically as a Prophetic hadith.

• Strength for Worship

The real payoff of fitness: easier salah as you age, more resilient fasting, better energy for work and family, and a body better prepared for Hajj and ĘżUmrah.

PART TWO — THE WHAT

This section explains what your body actually needs — Islamically, practically, and scientifically.

Inside:

• The Science of Movement

The actual WHO/CDC activity guidelines, why sitting quietly harms your health, and the four kinds of movement your body needs: cardio, strength, mobility, and daily movement.

• The Muslim Fitness Framework

A simple 4-pillar system for beginners and busy Muslims: strength, endurance, mobility, and recovery.

• Eat, Drink, But Do Not Be Excessive

Halal, tayyib, and moderation made practical — with the plate method, sample meals across South Asian, Arab, and Western diets, and honest guidance for weight loss and muscle gain.

• Recovery, Sleep, and Stress

Why sleep is part of the body’s right over you, and how to build a healthier rhythm around the five prayers.

• Islamic Boundaries of Fitness

Modesty, gaze, mixed spaces, music, intention, gym environments, fitness content, and a clear supplement guide covering what may be useful, what is overrated, and what is often a scam.

PART THREE — THE PLAN

This is where the book becomes practical.

Inside:

• Beginner Self-Assessment

Find your real starting point before choosing a plan — no ego, no guesswork.

• The Beginner 4-Week Plan

A full beginner-friendly training plan with weekly structure, warm-up guidance, safety cues, and simple progression.

• Exercise Library

Step-by-step guidance for squat, push, pull, hinge, carry, core, and mobility — with beginner-to-advanced progressions.

• 5 Bonus Plans

Modified versions for different lifestyles and starting points:

No-Gym Plan, Busy Student Plan, Busy Father Plan, Overweight Beginner Plan, and Skinny Beginner Plan.

• Ramadan Fitness

How to train, maintain, eat, hydrate, and recover during Ramadan without harming your fasting, worship, or energy.

• Becoming the Strong Believer

A closing 7-day challenge to help you put the whole book into action immediately.

A NOTE FROM THE AUTHOR

I’m a Muslim brother and medical student — not a scholar, not a doctor, and not an elite athlete. I am still learning, still improving, and still trying to become more consistent than I was last year.

This book is a sincere attempt to gather beneficial reminders from the Qur’an, authentic Sunnah, explanations of scholars, and mainstream health guidance into one practical guide for Muslims who want to begin.

Any good in it is from Allah. Any mistake is from me.

This book is educational. It is not medical advice and not a substitute for qualified medical guidance or qualified Islamic scholarship for your personal circumstances.

FINAL REMINDER

A Muslim does not train to worship his body.

He trains so his body can serve his worship.
